FOCUS ON: whats it all about?

focus onFOCUS ON: is a regular feature that gives you the chance to tell us something about your martial arts. Anything really, tell us about your club, association, style, favourite martial arts movie - whatever!. Do you want to write a feature about a competition you have held or won or do you have league results that you want to share? Well this is the place.

Read all about this competition which was held in 2006. It was a truly international compeition with teams representing varied countries and continents. This review has been produced by Nigel Gilham who competed as a member of the successful team England.

 

Interestingly, the Ishigaki Ju Jitsu club is thought to be the worlds only gay Ju Jitsu club. Established in 1994, for the first time the club is now proud to report on it's first home-grown students passing their black-belt gradings. Simon Powell talks about the rare experience of running an all gay martial arts club in this unique feature.

 

Daitoryu Aikijujutsu Roppokai, was established in North Carolina in the year 2001. Many famous martial artists have studied Daitoryu. The most famous was Aikido founder, Morihei Ueshiba. Ueshiba was a student of Sokaku Takeda of Daitoryu Aikijujutsu. Many historians consider Daitoryu to be the parent art of Aikido. Report by Tom Cohen.

 

A number of disciplines are taught at the Windsong Dojo including Aikido, Judo, Jyodo and Iaido. The Windsong Dojo are proud to announce the promotions of several senior dan grades and the introduction of new classes in this report from Nick Lowry.

 

In the first of the martialartscafe.com FOCUS ON series, we will be featuring the successful karate club in Ilkley (UK). The club, which was established in 1988, has had a great deal of recent success as evident in this report from Mark Outterside.
